Readers Stories Glad To Move I had been living on my own but due to unfortunate circumstances I had to move in with my parents, younger brother and sister. My family had only been living in the house for about six months when I moved back. On the morning after I had moved back in, I was wide awake lying on my bed on my right side, when I suddenly felt a punch in my back. This startled me, as I was the only person in the room. I sat upright and checked to see what it could have been, I could not see anything but my bed covers and bedroom wall. I went into my mother's room and explained to her what had just happened. She told me that it was just my imagination. I therefore put it down to that and forgot about it. A few months later as I was going up the stairs and I saw a bright flash of light in my mother's bedroom, which was in complete darkness. I explained to my mum once again what I had saw and she suggested that it could have been a police car, ambulance or fire engine passing in the street. I explained that I didn't think that is what it was as the curtains were closed and from where I was stood I could not see the windows. There were also a number of other incidents where I had been in the bathroom and head footsteps approaching the bathroom and when they got to the bathroom door they stopped completely, when I opened the door there was never anything or anyone there. Also things used to disappear in our house only to be found weeks later in places where they should not be. I have also on a number of occasions awoke in the middle of the night to see a black shape in the middle of the room. I always felt very uncomfortable in that house. We moved out of the house at the beginning of 2003 and on the night we left my mum confessed to me that she had experienced the same punch in the back on her first night in the house and she had also seen and heard things. She said she did not want to admit it to me when we lived there as she thought I would be scared of living in the house. The people who now live in the house have since told us that on the day they moved in their television broke, as did their cooker, and some other household objects with no explanation.
