Fading Away. I am a nursing sister and during my time as a junior nurse, I had an unforgettable experience which I believe was some sort of ghostly phenomena. On the day in question, I was in the hospital mortuary and during the short period of time I was there, two porters brought in the body of a patient who had just passed away in one of the wards. They placed the body on mortuary trolley, covered it with a sheet and then left. I was alone at the time as the mortuary attendant was at his lunch break. As I was about to open the door to leave, I turned around and to my surprise saw a misty transparent outline of the body rise slowly from the corpse. This 'shape' rose to a height of about seven feet and then seemed to evaporate. I know what I saw was real and it definitely was not my imagination, nervousness or fear of being in that environment. As a nurse I was used to seeing and dealing with patients who had passed away and I had been in the mortuary on many occasions before and after this incident. I made no mention to anyone of what I had seen in case they thought I was crazy and question my suitability for nursing. I also had no desire for it to be shown on my records. I have often wondered if anyone else had such a similar experience and like me kept quite about it.
