Our Pub Was Haunted.

I lived at the Narborough Arms, Narborough, Leics, during the period from 1978 (when it was first converted to a pub) to 1982. I lived with my family, my sister and brothers and had the attic room above the hotel. There were 3 rooms with the middle room being the only access to downstairs.

In December during the Christmas of 1981, there was a bad storm that cut of all lighting in the attic, and only the attic. I went into the middle room to go downstairs and thought my brother had a friend staying as there seemed to be a mound on the floor, I went to step over but went very cold as I then realised that there wasn't any of my brothers friends staying overnight. The room was quiet and so I ran back to my room, only being 12 pushed my sister's and my own bed up against the door and then sat at the furthest corner shaking.

I had no idea how long I was like this but it felt like days. My sister attempted to get in the attic later and when she eventually got in and dragged me out, there was no mound to be seen. She told me that it was my imagination but I swear to this day that something had definitely been there. Another unusual occurrence was that there was a fire in the wash room with no apparent cause. My brothers and sister also admitted to doing a seance in the bar and during the séance a glass flew through the air.

I have stayed at the Derby Jail but found the Arms much scarier.
